peonies are vivienne tam's favorite flower for spring 09 Sep 11, 2008

Here's why Girlawhirl always finds herself checking out the Vivienne Tam section when she shops: she can always find something feminine, colorful and pretty. And the fact that it's usually either red or a floral pattern just adds to its charm. Tam always seems to work red and flowers – often peonies – into her collections, and for Spring 09, she juxtaposed those looks with suiting inspired by Yves St. Laurent, calling it In The Garden With Yves…
For day, Girlawhirl could see herself wearing the side gathered peony print long sleeve dress, or the cotton canvas trench coat covered with an oversized floral pattern. For a special occasion she'd be thrilled to wear the cream cotton sheath dress with black beading on the skirt, and for dinner out, any of the delicate chiffon pleated dresses.
But what really piqued Girlawhirl¹s interest was what a few of the models were carrying. It looked like a clutch but it was a perfectly proportioned HP computer! Tam announced her collaboration with Hewlett-Packard during her Spring 2009 show with the debut of the HP Vivienne Tam Special Edition notebook computer. It's to be introduced in early 2009 and is small and light enough to be carried in one hand. Tam's outfitted it in one of her peony prints and the inside is her signature red, making it perhaps Girlawhirl¹s most coveted Spring 09 item.
