Girlawhirl admits to being a bit of a self-tanning dunce. There are very few products that result in a believable streak free self tan even when following the precise instructions, with pre-application exfoliation and post ‘smudging' of dangerous areas like knees and ankles with a washcloth. It's not a self tanner, but a bronzing mousse that Girlawhirl can apply instead of moisturizer after she's dried herself off from her morning shower. It dries quickly, stays put, and gives her the option of building the color by applying a bit more.
Since it washes off with soap and water, the theory goes that Girlawhirl can fix any streaks or mistakes immediately, but truth be told, it was so easy to use that there were no blobs or bungles. The trick, Girlawhirl figured out, was to start with a small amount of the mousse and get that worked in, say on her lower leg, instead of a whole palmful, which would be enough for her whole leg. When she was through, a good scrub with soapy water took care of her palms and she was set to go.
In less than five minutes she ended up with legs that she wasn't embarrassed to bare, which, after so much-self tanning trauma, Girlawhirl had almost forgotten was just what she had been after all along.
