As soon as the weather warms up, Girlawhirl moves her workout outdoors, enjoying the breeze, the flowers and even the sun. Of course she needs to protect herself from sunburn and other pesky problems, and these products are the ones she turns to again and again… Sun protection is a must, and when sweating is part of the equation, Girlawhirl looks for a sunscreen that stays put so she never has to worry about it getting into her eyes and messing up her game. Favorites are Neutrogena's Active Breathable SPF 45 and Coppertone Sport Continuous Spray SPF 50.
Her sun protection doesn't stop there. Girlawhirl never leaves the house without a lip balm or spot stick with a high SPF. Shady Day SPF 30 Sunscreen Stick does double duty as a lip balm and a little extra protection on places – like the top of her forehead or tip of her nose – that the sun almost always seems to find.
When she takes a run through a wooded area, or if she's enjoying an outdoor concert, mosquito protection is a must. She's a fan of Origins Gardener's Spray - available at Origins stores - because it's full of essential oils and even makes her skin softer.
Girlawhirl used to hate working out while wearing sunglasses. They'd slip off, and the frames were so clunky they'd often obstruct her peripheral vision. Now, with these Revive Women's Sunglasses from Nike, she gets full UVA and UVB protection in a lightweight frame that stays on tight and even has little vents to keep air flowing through the nose grip area. She can even change the lenses for sport specific conditions.
Last, but truly not least, Girlawhirl tucks away her key, ID, sun stick and a few other essentials in her neoprene pouch from Flote. It clips securely onto the waistband of her shorts, and doesn't bounce while she works out.
