One of the most talked about things to hit the Spring ‘07 runways wasn’t a skirt, pant, jacket, or even a shoe. It was the perfectly pretty pink lips that makeup artist Gucci Westman created for the Proenza Schouler show…
She mixed it up by combining a bright pink lipstick with white stage make-up and after applying it to the model’s lips, she dusted it with powder to keep it matte. But Lancôme is making it easy to get the look by producing Proenza Pink, the second installment in their Pout-à-Porter lipstick series.
Sheer and light, with just a hint of frostiness, this lipstick begs to be part of Girlawhirl’s summertime look. She can just see it now, with a lightly bronzed face and a little bit of charcoal grey eyeliner. Proenza Pink lips will be the perfect complement to all her black-and-white-with-touches-of-silver outfits when summer rolls around.
But in order to get one she’ll have to act fast! The first lipstick in the Pout-à-Porter series, a red that flattered all skin tones called Behnaz (in honor of designer Behnaz Sarafpour) was produced in such small quantities that it never got to the sales floor. It only made it to those who were on the waiting list. This time, Lancôme promises that there’ll be enough Proenza Pink to go around, but it’s still a limited edition. Girlawhirl’s already placed a call to her local Lancôme boutique to make sure there’s a tube waiting for her. It’s scheduled to hit Neiman Marcus and Bergdorf Goodman, in addition to the four Lancôme US boutiques on March 1.
