Wine Sorbet gives Girlawhirl and her Super Pals something new to try Jun 22, 2007

One group gathering Girlawhirl and Super Pals simply refuse to miss is their monthly wine tasting. It's a rotating party that ensures they meet up at least once a month to share the delicious wine finds they've sampled over the past few weeks. But when the invitation arrived for this month's get-together, there was a special note attached; “leave room for dessert”… Girlawhirl tends to lean towards reds. A glass of an amazing Pinto Noir or Cabernet Sauvignon in hand is all she needs to relax with friends. Always open-minded though, she happily samples all of the Pinto Grigio, Chardonnays and Rieslings her Pals pass her way. Hence the monthly wine tasting.
This month was no different. But instead of popping the cork on a new California red or Australian white, Girlawhirl's Super Pal handed out spoons because this wine tasting was all about tasting wine flavored sorbet!
Girlawhirl quickly dug in, sampling the vintage-based softly sweet Rosé, fruity Pinot Noir and smooth Cabernet Sauvignon from Wine Cellar Sorbet. Topped with the freshest summer fruits, they make a spectacular dessert or a cool counterbalance to a cheese plate. And just like any of their favorite wines, Girlawhirl and Pals are careful not to overdo it because these fresh tasting treats do contain alcohol, 5% to be exact.
Next up on her “to-enjoy” list: Sangria Rojo and the sweet Riesling. Oh, and the Champagne flavor – like its bubbly brother – is being saved for a special occasion. Girlawhirl thinks girl-time on the veranda at the next Super Pal wedding.
Wine Cellar Sorbet is available at select Whole Foods Stores and sold on the Wine Cellar Sorbet website.
