Cakes for a Cure are a sweet way for Girlawhirl to help support breast cancer research

Cake! Just saying the word, or even thinking about cake puts a smile on Girlawhirl's face. Maybe it's because it brings back memories of birthday parties and other childhood events, but these days, even during a busy workday, cake events are a surefire way to get Girlawhirl out of her office and into the kitchen or conference room to join the celebration…

And in honor of Breast Cancer Awareness Month, Girlawhirl's office will be gathering around two cakes this afternoon: a Pink Ribbon Cheesecake and a Pink Velvet layer cake. Made by Carousel Cakes, these two pretty pink treats help support the Breast Cancer Research Foundation, which funds clinical and genetic research worldwide in the hope of preventing the disease and finding a cure.
