With New Year's right around the corner Girlawhirl is getting her resolutions in order. Top of the list – as usual – is to eat better. She's heard about some pretty abrasive diet trends over the past year, but she's looking to welcome 2008 with something a little more balanced…
Girlawhirl totally believes in the power of positive thinking. So do authors Jodi Lipper and Cerina Vincent. In their new book How to Eat Like a Hot Chick, the pair outlines how the confidence of a “Hot Chick” can be used to unlock the inner Hot Chick in all of us. Confidence is contagious, and these ladies feel if you start treating yourself like a hot chick, so will the rest of the world.
From great ideas for breakfast, lunch, dinner and snacks, Girlawhirl can really dig the ladies diet sensibility and sense of humor when it comes to feeling good and looking great.
But what Girlawhirl loves most is their view that every woman is a hot chick, even if she doesn't know it yet. And any diet book that says it's okay to indulge in even the greasiest of foods – like French fries (wow!) – on occasion, is OK in her book. And there are great recipes like “Fake Fettuccini” and “Practically Pizza.” She also likes how they differentiate between eating steak, which is sexy, and cured meats like sausages, which are things to steer clear of. Or that spinach is the key to a healthy lifestyle, but that doesn't include the creamed variety.
Girlawhirl's ready to learn How to Eat Like a Hot Chick. In fact it feels like she's been in training for it her whole life.
