The Duncan Hines National Bake Sale Contest is more than just an opportunity for Girlawhirl and crew to create their favorite Duncan Hines desserts; it's a chance to get their creative cupcake juices flowing. Duncan Hines is asking bakers to participate in the Cupcakes for a Cause^™ campaign. So instead of simply submitting their scrumptious and original cupcake ideas, Duncan Hines wants the ladies to sell them, and then donate the proceeds directly to CancerCare for Kids.

But more than just the drive to raise funds, Duncan Hines wants bakers to submit a picture of their most creative looking cupcake along with a 50-word (or less) story describing their bake sale. Grand prizes will be awarded to one group and one individual. Each person in the winning group – of no more than 20 people – will receive a $100 US Savings Bond and a Cuisinart^® Power Select^™ 7-Speed Hand Mixer, worth $49.95. The individual grand prize winner will receive a $500 US Savings Bond and a Cuisinart 5.5 Quart Stand Mixer valued at $349.99.

In addition, each member of five groups, as well as five individuals, selected as finalists will all receive $25 US Savings Bonds and a Duncan Hines T-shirt.

Colorful icing? Combo of flavors? Spectacular decoration? Girlawhirl's not sure what her crew will do to grab the judges' attention. She's just happy she has some strong bakers on her side, because while a new mixer would be great, raising a whole lot of money for CancerCare for Kids will be fabulous.
