getting rid of rosie by lynda simmons

What a great summertime read! Girlawhirl enjoyed Getting Rid of Rosie by Lynda Simmons from start to finish. When an old flame, Michael, shows up out of the blue, Samantha Marcello’s heart can’t help but skip a beat. But there’s a long history there. They had been engaged, and while Sam was away at college her best friend Rosie stole Michael from her. They left to live in the country, and Sam hadn’t seen either of them for years…

Fast forward to today: Michael and his brother stroll into Sam’s new pub for lunch, and both she and Michael are hit with waves of “what could have been.”

And when Sam finds out that Rosie died two years ago in a car accident, “what might have been” quickly turns into possibilities for the future. But there’s a major glitch – Rosie. She can’t let go. Even though she’s no longer alive, she’s constantly around Michael and their daughter Julie, whispering in their ears and influencing their decisions.

And oddly – Sam is the only one who can see, hear and talk to Rosie. Maybe it’s because they were best friends, but it’s true, and Rosie won’t give up her hold on Michael.

Sam’s got to figure out a way to do it all: save Michael and Julie from their ghost, figure out if she and Michael have a future, and keep her fledgling pub from succumbing to the pressure of the situation.

Girlawhirl’s not telling how it all ends!
