In theaters this Friday:
• Get Smart—PG-13—Steve Carell stars as CONTROL agent Maxwell Smart in this big screen adaptation of the classic TV sitcom. When CONTROL headquarters are attacked and the identities of its agents are compromised, the Chief (Alan Arkin) has no choice but to promote eager analyst Smart to agent. Smart has always dreamed of working in the field with superstar Agent 23 (Dwayne Johnson) but instead he's paired with the only other agent whose identity was not compromised, the lovely veteran Agent 99 (Anne Hathaway). Now Smart and 99 must work together to thwart the latest plot for world domination by the evil crime syndicate KAOS.
• The Love Guru—PG-13—Mike Myers stars as Pitka, an American who was left at the gates of an ashram in India as a child and raised by gurus. He returns to the U.S. as an adult to seek fame and fortune in the world of self-help. His unorthodox methods are put to the test when he must heal the broken marriage of a hockey player and his wife so that the player can get back on his game and help his team win the Stanley cup for the first time in 40 years. Justin Timberlake and Jessica Alba also star.
• Kit Kittredge: An American Girl—G—Abigail Breslin stars in this drama based on the American Girl doll line. She plays Kit Kittredge, a resourceful young girl growing up during the Great Depression whose happy childhood is abruptly interrupted when her father (Chris O'Donnell) loses his business and must leave town to look for work. Kit and her mother Margaret (Julia Ormond) are left to manage on their own, growing vegetables, selling eggs and taking in boarders – including a magician (Stanley Tucci), a dance instructor (Jane Krakowski) and a zany mobile librarian (Joan Cusack). When a string of robberies hits town and Kit's mother and their boarders become victims, Kit solves the mystery and saves her family's home. (Limited release; in theaters nationwide July 2.)

• Fool's Gold—Kate Hudson and Matthew McConaughey star in this romantic comedy about an estranged couple who rekindle their marriage as they search for sunken treasure. Ben (McConaughey) is obsessed with finding the legendary “Queen's Dowry” treasure that was lost at sea in 1715 and it's that obsession that sinks his marriage with Tess (Hudson). Tess starts to rebuild her life with a job aboard a billionaire's yacht. But when Ben discovers a vital clue about the treasure's whereabouts he charms his way aboard the yacht and convinces the billionaire to join in his hunt.

• This Charming Man by Marian Keyes — Paddy de Courcy is Ireland's most charismatic politician. The “John F. Kennedy of Dublin” has taken Ireland, its people and its tabloids by storm. While his easy smile may fool the masses, the four women narrators of This Charming Man take turns sharing their experiences with this heartbreaker and how it shaped their lives.
