In theaters this Thursday:

Indiana Jones and the Kingdom of the Crystal Skull—PG-13—Harrison Ford is back as archaeologist and adventurer Indiana Jones. This time it's 1957 – the height of the Cold War – and Indy's recent activities have made him the object of suspicion and the government is putting pressure on his university to fire him. On his way out of town, Indy meets a rebellious young man named Mutt (Shia LaBeouf) who has a proposition for him – accompany him on a mission that could possibly lead to one of the most spectacular archaeological finds in history – the Crystal Skull of Akator. But as Indy and Mutt set out for the remote corners of Peru, they realize they are not alone in their search. Soviet agents are also hot on the trail of the Crystal Skull. Led by the devastatingly beautiful agent Irina Spalko (Cate Blanchett) the Soviets are searching for the Skull because they believe it can help them dominate the world if they unlock its secrets.

In theaters this Friday:

War, Inc.—R—A political satire set in Turaqistan, a country occupied by a private American corporation run by a former U.S. Vice President (Dan Aykroyd). The corporation hires a hitman named Hauser (John Cusack) to kill a Middle Eastern Oil minister. Hauser poses as the corporation's Trade Show Producer in order to pull off his assignment and to do that he has to maintain his cover by organizing the high-profile wedding of an outrageous Central Asian pop star (Hilary Duff) and keep a sexy left-wing reporter (Marisa Tomei) in check.

Postal—R—Dude, a recently laid-off loser kind of a guy, teams up with his Uncle Dave, the leader of a local cult who also happens to be having financial difficulties, to steal some valuable merchandise from the local amusement park. Unfortunately for them, the Taliban is also in town and has a similar plan but with a far more sinister intent.

New DVD releases:

National Treasure: Book of Secrets—A follow-up to National Treasure starring, once again, Nicolas Cage as treasure hunter Ben Gates. This time he sets out on a very personal mission. When a missing page from the diary of John Wilkes Booth is found, Ben's great-great-grandfather is implicated as conspirator in Lincoln's assassination. So Ben begins a quest to prove his ancestor's innocence that takes him around the world and unearths some long kept secrets.

New Book releases:

• The Front by Patricia CornwellReaders met Massachusetts state investigator Win Garano, his wise grandmother, and slightly reckless District Attorney Monique Lamont in At Risk. The three return in this new novel and danger threatens them all. This time Lamont has a special job for Garano. As part of a PR campaign warning of the dangers of declining neighborhoods, Lamont sends him to Watertown to drum up some drama. Garano is skeptical because he knows Watertown is the home base for a loose association of municipal police departments called the FRONT. This group is designed so the departments don't have to be so dependent on the state – which bothers Lamont. Garano suspects she has a hidden agenda, but has no idea how deep it runs.

• Blood Trail by C.J. Box For the first time in state history, Colorado's governor is forced to end elk hunting season early. There's a killer on the loose, gutting and stringing up hunters in the woods, the same way a hunter would an elk. Next to the first body: a single spent cartridge and a lone poker chip. Is a deranged anti-hunting protestor behind the murders? Or someone far more dangerous? Horror spreads through the hunting community and Governor Rulon turns to his go-to man, Joe Pickett, to solve the case and stop the killings as more and more bodies, and poker chips, turn up.

• Odd Hours by Dean Koontz Koontz's beloved character with supernatural abilities returns in his third adventure. Odd Thomas's ability to speak to the dead has allowed him to meet incredible new people, and encounter incredible evil. After coming to terms with the fact he and his soul mate, Stormy Llewellyn, will never be, Odd decides to retreat to quiet anonymity with his dog Boo and a new companion. But his dreams of an all encompassing red tide draw him to a quite seaside California town where nothing is what it seems.

• Executive Privilege by Phillip Margolin Private Investigator Dana Cutler thinks she has an easy assignment when she's hired by a politically connected lawyer to follow pretty, young college student Charlotte Walsh around and report back on where she goes and who she meets. But things take a turn for the worse – quickly – when Dana tracks Charlotte to a secret meeting with Christopher Farrington, the President of the United States. The next day Charlotte's body turns up and Dana is on the run for her life. In Oregon, Brad Miller is working on the appeal of a man convicted of murdering a teenager who, at the time of her death, worked for then Governor Farrington. Now a small time P.I. and a fledgling lawyer find themselves with evidence that suggests someone in the White House is a murderer – but can they stay alive long enough to prove it?
