But he changes the names in his story so Maya has to guess who he finally married. As Maya pieces things together from her father’s story, she begins to understand that love is not simple or easy.

• Jumper—PG-13—A genetic anomaly allows a young man to teleport himself anywhere. He discovers that this ability has existed for centuries and that he is not the only one who has it. Soon he finds himself in a war that has been raging for thousands of years between “Jumpers” and those who have sworn to kill them.

• The Spiderwick Chronicles—PG—Based on the best-selling series of books. New DVD releases:

• Becoming Jane—Anne Hathaway plays Jane Austen in this story about the great, untold romance in her life that inspired the young author. • Gone Baby GoneBen Affleck’s directorial debut; this movie is based on the best-selling novel by Dennis Lehane and follows the case of a little girl from Dorchester, Massachusetts who goes missing without a trace. • The Palace of Illusions: A Novel by Chitra Banerjee DivakaruniA unique feminist approach to the Indian epic “The Mahabharat.” Part history and part myth, this telling is from the perspective of Panchaali, the wife of the legendary Pandavas brothers.
