In theaters this Wednesday: • The Perfect Holiday—PG—A divorced mother of three spends so much time taking care of her kids that she doesn't have any time to take care of herself. In theaters this Friday: • I Am Legend—PG-13—Will Smith plays Robert Neville a brilliant scientist – but not brilliant enough to stop an incurable, man-made virus. For some reason he is immune and now he is the last human survivor in New York City, possibly the world. But he is not alone. Mutant victims of the virus are watching him and Neville is trying to find a way to reverse the effects of the virus using his own immune blood before the mutants turn on him. • Alvin and the Chipmunks—PG—Based on the cartoons about the mischievous trio of singing chipmunks who are turned into pop sensations by songwriter Dave Seville. In return, they wreck Dave's house and generally turn his life upsides down. • The Kite Runner—R—Based on the bestselling novel – two childhood friends in Afghanistan, Amir and Hassan, are torn by a devastating act. Now, after 20 years of living in America, Amir returns to Afghanistan, which is being ruled by the Taliban, to face the secrets that haunt him and to try to finally set things right.
• Harry Potter and the Order of the Phoenix—Now in his fifth year at Hogwarts, the boy wizard has to contend with a new Defense Against the Dark Arts teacher. Her “ministry approved” course is doing very little to prepare the students to actually defend themselves against the dark forces that threaten them. So Harry takes matters into his own hands and teaches the other students how to defend themselves. • The Borne Ultimatum—Matt Damon returns as assassin Jason Bourne in the third installment of this espionage series. This time Bourne travels around the world trying to hunt down his past so that he can build a future.
