New Book releases:

• Duma Key by Stephen King-After his wife leaves him and his life begins to fall apart, Edgar Freemantle wishes the construction accident that took his arm, mixed up his mind and gave him the rage that sent his wife running, would have taken his life too. His psychologist, Dr. Kamen, suggests leaving behind the multi-million dollar construction business he built from the ground up in Minnesota for a whole new life. He's also encouraged to pick up sketching again. He decides to relocate to Duma Key, an eerily undeveloped part of the Florida coast. A visit from his daughter helps to draw him out of his solitary existence. Edgar begins to make friends with the area's other inhabitants. His paintings become more intense, and even he can't seem to control what winds up on the canvas or how it affects the world around him.

• The Commoner by John Burnham Schwartz -In 1959, at 24 years old, Haruko becomes the first non-aristocratic woman to marry into the Japanese monarchy - the longest-running and most mysterious monarchy in the world. Completely controlled under the suspicious eye of the Empress and her inner circle, Haruko suffers a nervous breakdown. She recovers and goes on to become Empress herself. Thirty years later she encourages Keiko - a rising star in the foreign ministry - to marry her son the Crown Prince and the consequences are dramatic.

• Why Mars and Venus Collide by John Gray-the author of Men are from Mars, Women are from Venus, looks at the way men and women are “hardwired” to handle stress, and how perceived distance and tension can impact relationships. Backed up by scientific research, Gray discusses how a man's nature to withdraw is actually a way for him to rebuild after a stressful situation, the same as a woman's need to discuss problems helps her cope on a physiological level.

• The Secret Between Us by Barbara Delinsky-Deborah Monroe picks up her 16-year-old daughter, Grace, from a party one Friday night and lets her drive home. But on the way, Grace hits a man. Deborah sends her home deciding to deal with the police herself. Their deception takes on a life of its own threatening not only their family, but their special bond as well.
