The first leg of thoroughbred racing's Triple Crown is over and done, but the race to determine whether or not there's even a chance one horse will win the coveted three-race title for the first time in 30 years happens tomorrow in Baltimore. And Girlawhirl is certainly excited for the main event at Pimlico Race Course. She's been to a number of Kentucky Derby celebrations over the years, but this year she decided she's going to honor the middle leg. So she's mixing up some Black-Eyed Susans and rejoicing in all things Maryland for the 133 running of The Preakness Stakes… Girlawhirl's decked out her apartment with bunches of fresh Black-Eyed Susans – Maryland's official state flower – and picked up the ingredients to make the bourbon and citrus vodka drink that bares the same name – the official drink of the Preakness.
Girlawhirl always pulls for the Derby winner to go all the way – especially since there hasn't been a Triple Crown winner since Affirmed in 1978 – so she's placed her bets on Big Brown and she's keeping her fingers crossed. She's looking forward to tuning in at 5 p.m. ET Saturday evening to enjoy the historic race.

She's also whipping out mom's recipe for, and looking forward to indulging in, Maryland crab cakes. Now all she needs are a few Super Pals to pop by tomorrow evening to share in the excitement of the second leg of the Triple Crown.
