After a long day in the tents the only thing Girlawhirl wants to do is curl up with a warm cup of tea, flip on the TV and watch even more fashion-centric programming! What can she say? Girlawhirl can't get enough of all things fashion. So tonight – and every night this week – she has a date with the Sundance Channel and its fabulous “Read to Watch' week… Girlawhirl knows where she'll be tonight at 7:30 p.m., following around the likes of Doo-Ri and Porenza Schouler's Jack McCollough & Lazaro Hernandez in Douglas Keeve's Seamless, a 2005 documentary staring all of the finalists for that year's Vogue/CFDA award. But just in case she's tied up at the tents, she's set her TiVo to the Sundance Channel tonight, and every night this week to capture all of the fashion themed programming.
She also has a date to catch up on yesterday's American debut of the Loïc Prigent directed Marc Jacobs & Louis Vuitton documentary. Following the designer behind closed doors, the documentary takes a look at the creative process it takes to put out not one, but two successful lines each season – both his own eponymous line and as the creative director of Louis Vuitton.
And she's got more fashionable programming to watch all week long. Each day she's treated to a new fashion installment. Tomorrow she's looking forward to Karl Lagerfeld is Never Happy Anyway and Thursday's look at Yves St. Laurent preparing for his last collection in 2001, in the David Teboul directed documentary Yves St. Laurent: 5 Avenue Marceau 75116 Paris.
But the designer documentaries aren't the only stars of ‘Ready to Watch' week. There is also a reality series staring London-based mensware designer Ozwald Boateng as he tries to duplicate his overseas success in the United States in “House of Boateng” and the 1966 comedy Who Are You, Polly Maggoo? Good thing she's cleared her TiVo in preparation.
