With the writers’ strike finally over, Girlawhirl and her Super Pals intend to make the most of the Oscars. They’ve been deprived of red carpet hoopla and now that there’s no longer the threat of a picket line their favorite actors, directors and all those involved in movie making will come out in full force. And so, Girlawhirl’s got plans for a get-together worthy of such a turnout…
And while the celebratory mood persists, Girlawhirl’s aware that the strike took its toll on plenty of people and families so she’s making sure that her gathering doesn’t cross the line into excess or extravagance. But that doesn’t mean that she’s just opening a bag of chips for her friends to crunch on. Instead, she’s whipping up some delicious Black Truffle Popcorn and pairing it with either cold beer, crisp white or mellow red wine.
This year, her pals are just coming over to watch the red carpet, so after they leave, Girlawhirl intends to take a suggestion from Vanity Fair’s Graydon Carter, who when explaining to the New York Times why the magazine decided not to throw their party this year said, “There will be something sort of liberating about ordering Chinese food and watching the Oscars in bed.”
Girlawhirl knows just what she’ll order.
