Luella gave us radical chic this season in a snappy fall 2008 show -staged Thursday in the ballroom of Clarities’ Hotel in Mayfair - edgy, yet folkloric clobber, which was not surprising seeing her inspiration were pixies and fairies.
Her best ideas were party frocks, with obviously exposed zips at the back – a big UK trend – and ribbons, in flowery prints and loose silhouette.
Luella also got in on the whole color coordinated moment, using the same tweeds and checks as inlays in mini platform shoes and sensible country coats.
Luella also showed the best handbags on any British catwalk this season – covered in metal beads, ribbons and fabric shards.
Wearing giant sorceress hats and some great club toed spiky heeled shoes; the models traipsed around the rough-hewn floorboards that made up the catwalk.
You could just imagine her fans, happening London gals like Sophie Ellis Bextor, Lily Allen and Kelly Osborne, who all sat front row at the show, and all of whom were wearing dresses on a chilly morning, jumping right into these clothes and accessories.
