Betsey Johnson rocks the runway Sep 13, 2006

From sailor dresses to rompers and candy striper pinafores, Betsey Johnson delivered girly clothes full of flirty fun details and plenty of Betty-Boop-like chic for Spring 07. Girlawhirl loved all the details, from ruffles to rick rack and more… One after another, dresses kept coming down the runway. With soft ruffles at the neck or hem, lace trims, lacing up the back, pin-tucking and even bows, nothing was left unadorned. There was plenty of color - candy pink, green and purple - as well as small prints, gingham, polka dots and other dotty designs, and even a black and white dice print.
Not a designer that Girlawhirl would think of first for a little black dress, there were, in fact several black dresses that were just fantastic. One in particular was body conscious with a pretty open neck and flounce at the hem, and adorned with a single cream bow at the neck. It seemed to be a perfect mix of the demure and the dramatic. Another that followed, had, again, an open neckline but with a cream placket and black lace at the neck, and equally spectacular was one with a lace trimmed v-neck.
It all ended with balloons, a little bit of a dance with Patricia Field as Johnson's partner, and of course, the cartwheel that Betsey Johnson ends all of her shows with.
