Girlawhirl enjoyed the Bill Blass Spring '07 runway show so much that she honestly didn't want it to end. Maybe it was the sound of birds chirping that preceded the music, and the fact that the beat of the music didn't make her heart jump as it does at so many other shows, but she could have easily sat there all day, watching one beautiful ensemble after another come down the runway… Truth be told, it was the matte jersey that she fell in love with, in all its incarnations, from a cool sand colored suit and a robin's egg blue short dress to a long raspberry gown with wrapped bodice. There was even a perfect little black dress. From a design house so steeped in tradition, Girlawhirl marveled at the modernity of these pieces.
The color palette of sand, cocoa and sage was popped with the robin's egg blue, raspberry pink and purple, but again, the colors were combined in of-the-minute combinations, like a silk faille raspberry pencil skirt underneath a nubby sage linen jacket.
With a New York crowd that included Ivana Trump and Sigorney Weaver, along with the top brass from all the luxury department stores and all the fashion editors, Girlawhirl could see why the Bill Blass show was one of the hottest tickets in the tents!
