For Spring 08, she can see that pieces from Rory Tahari's collection will be the shining stars of her wardrobe. Oversized island inspired prints will be her vacation companions at summertime party dates, while dresses and jackets with intricately braided belts, stones embellishments, origami-like pleats and latticing at necklines will keep her in the spotlight wherever she goes.
Pairing cool pool blue with red, green and blue with white, or hot pink with dark olivey-brown looked so fresh to Girlawhirl. It's easy to wear and less attention grabbing than the "look at me" brights from last spring, and a little more punchy than layers of neutral colors. Girlawhirl's color to watch: a marigold yellow that she's been seeing on the runways appeared here as well.
There were pretty dresses too, with long and sleek options in shining crinkled bronze or, Girlawhirl's favorite, a full skirted short dress in a subtle ombre fabric that went from sandy beige at the knee, to cream at the waist and then sea foam green when it hit the shoulders.
Accessories rounded out the Spring 08 presentation including slouchy large leather shoulder bags that were tamed by darts at the top, handbags made from pleated and stitched leather and an array of sparkling shoes. One pair in particular, a delicate patent heel that changed color from taupe in the front to an inky purple in back, will surely remain firmly in Girlawhirl's mind. Until of course, she can get them into her closet.
