Ombré shoes knock Girlawhirl's socks off Oct 31, 2007

One of the most fabulous items that came down the runways last fall was the ombré patent leather shoes at Prada. They were a pinky taupe or orange in front, fading out to black in back. Girlawhirl admits that she swooned… And she's still contemplating a splurge that will get her favorites, the green-to-black Vernice Sfumata peep toe pump into her closet in time for the holidays. The left side of her brain has already figured out how they'll be incorporated into her holiday looks, allowing for the bright pop of color around her toes, but not combining them with anything red, for fear of looking like a Christmas card.
But the right side – the more conservative side – thinks that maybe she should go with Stuart Weitzman's grey-to-black Ombré pumps. The color scheme will definitely allow for longevity in the wearability department, and since greys of all kinds continue for spring, she knows she'll be able to continue wearing them for months to come. Of course the price is also gentler on her wallet.
Girlawhirl's not sure which side of her brain will win the fight. But she does know that she'll be stepping out in something ombré soon enough.
