get a jump on spring 2010 colors with pantone's fashion report
Sep 30, 2009

Every spring and fall, during New York Fashion Week, the experts at the Pantone Color Institute release their report detailing the hottest colors for the upcoming season. This year's Spring 2010 report contains more information than in previous seasons, including not just profiles of many designers who showed on the runways at New York Fashion Week, but advice from industry experts like Nina Garcia and Clinton Kelly and information from retailers like Macy's, Saks Fifth Avenue and Neiman Marcus…

“Now more than ever, women are vigilant when it comes to spending,” says Leatrice Eiseman, Executive Director of the Pantone Color Institute®. “Instead of reinventing their wardrobe at the start of each season, consumers want pieces to complement what they already own. Pairing a bold color with a basic piece or freshening up their look with bright accents addresses the need for practicality, as well as fun.”

And it's that mix of bright pretty colors – turquoise, coral, yellow and pink – mellowed out with neutrals – khaki, taupe and grey – that Girlawhirl will expect to see in stores next spring.
