It's a fact. Women have fewer close friends today than they did in 1985. Why? Could it be the increasing demands of family, work and life in general? Girlawhirl's definitely affected by that, and she too has seen that she's got less time to maintain her friendships. So spending more time on her friends is her number one resolution for 2008, and she's all set to help all of her readers do just the same… A 2004 study showed that not only do Americans have about a third fewer confidants than they did in 1985, the number was down to two (really 2.04) from almost three (2.94) in 1985. And, the experts concluded that as their circle of friends shrinks, women are losing the close personal ties that are crucial for their well being and emotional heath.
Stay tuned! Along with Girlawhirl Groups, which allow friends to link to each other on the girlawhirl.com site, there will be plenty of information, downloads and friendship fun in 2008.

So, Girlawhirl's decided that 2008 will be “The Year of Friendship.” She's gathering her Super Pals and letting them know that she'll do what she can to be more available to them in lots of different ways. Whether it's making sure that she shows up for a spinning class with a Pal or scheduling a monthly get-together, Girlawhirl will share strategies to stay in touch throughout 2008.
