national friendship day

Truth be told, Girlawhirl’s a bit confused: National Friendship Day is this Sunday, August 3rd, but Women’s Friendship Day is still a couple of weeks away on the 17th. Not that she minds celebrating friendships – she can’t imagine her life without her Super Pals. So she’s decided to celebrate both and dedicate the next couple of weeks to making time – real time – to get together with them…

No more “sure I’ll meet you for spinning tomorrow night” and then working late, knowing her friend can get through the class without her. She’ll prevent all thoughts of procrastination from taking hold at the office – there are online sales to browse, personal emails to answer, national-friendship-day and a last minute summer weekend getaway to plan – and finish what must be done so she can get to the class on time. After their class, she’ll insist that they cool off with a quick bite to eat so they can relax and chat.

She’ll arrange a brunch for next weekend, stop by to visit pals who have little ones at home or arrange to meet them during their weekend park outing, and make a few appointments for phone calls or online sessions with her far-flung friends with camera equipped laptops.

After all, there’s nothing better than really catching up with her friends.
