Her local gourmet shop is a treasure trove of ideas. With all kinds of coffees and teas she can put together a basket or two. Shortbread cookies – her local shop stocks bags of home made cookies but packaged ones will do as well – and some rock candy stirrers round out her teatime gift. For the ultimate coffee break, she combines a couple of different roasts, a coffee or mocha flavored chocolate bar and some gourmet granola. All that the recipient needs to contribute is the milk.
She can create the ultimate cheese platter to take to a friend's on Christmas Eve. Different cheeses, one mild and creamy, another aged and sharper, and a third that's got a hint of blue or brine make a good mix. Paired with fancy crackers and a jar of onion jam and she's good to go. She can even stop by the produce section and add some grapes, apples, pears or nuts. The options go on and on: A spaghetti dinner in a basket Exotic spices for a friend who loves to cook An array of chocolates for the ultimate chocoholic Over the top tropical fruits
Really, there's no need for Girlawhirl to go anywhere near the mall today.
