After a serious shuffling of her finances, and calculating an estimated price per wearing based on the length of boot season, using the formulation of: three times a week at $20 a wearing from Thanksgiving through the end of March, she could at least justify the price of the boots she's been dying to own, to wear, to tuck her jeans into and to strut through her city showing off.
