As part of its Earth Month campaign, Aveda has created a new candle with a special scent just for April. Called Light the Way^™, it's soy wax and scented with certified organic lavender oil from Bulgarian farms. What Girlawhirl loves the most about the limited edition candle is that Aveda donates all – as in 100% – of the proceeds to its Earth Month partner, Global Greengrants Fund, an organization that gives grants to grassroots environmental groups around the world, including several clean water projects.

The United Nations News Service says that 6,000 people die each day from drinking water contaminated with pesticides and other toxins. One way to ensure that the soil and its runoff stay clean is organic farming. So, when creating a candle with the goal of helping the Earth, Aveda made sure it was produced without harming the environment in the process. Everything about the candle is earth-friendly! From the glass container made of 95% recycled material, right down to the eco-friendly cotton wick. Even the cardboard packaging is printed with soy ink on 55% post consumer recycled materials.
