With a “water sponsor” every season, thousands of bottles of water are free for the taking all over the lobby, at the entrances to each show, and pretty much within a 20 step stroll from anywhere inside the venue. But until last week, there was never a place to recycle all those plastic bottles.

Yes, it's a pet peeve of hers, and just like the time she collected empty bottles from a party and carried them home on the bus, Girlawhirl used to carry her own empties out with her to make sure that they were at least disposed of properly. A couple of years ago, she even initiated conversation with someone at IMG – the company behind Fashion Week – to try to push her own recycling agenda along.

And so – with a huge smile and warm heart – Girlawhirl entered the tents this year to see bottle shaped recycling cans set up right alongside the ones offering up bottles of SmartWater. She can only imagine how many times they were filled up throughout the course of the week.
