In Girlawhirl's never-ending quest to save the world, she's turned her energy to, well, new energies. She already knows about solar and wind power, but in her apartment building installing solar panels or a windmill on the roof would definitely be frowned upon. So how can an apartment dweller make an impact? After some research, she was pleasantly surprised to find a very simple way to make her green voice heardā¦
Girlawhirl is lucky enough to live in a city where she can request an alternative, cleaner, energy source with a simple phone call. She called her power company and informed it she wanted to go green. And for just a slight increase in her bill, Girlawhirl was able to secure her electricity from a renewable resource⦠sort of.

She learned there is no way to be certain that energy going to her apartment comes from a green source. But by switching to green energy on her bill she's personally bringing green energy into the city power grid, lessening the total need for other energy sources, and making the power company aware of the demand for cleaner and green energy sources.
So while she may be a little voice in a big pond, Girlawhirl is still happy to know she's making some noise. Now she's on a mission to spread the word so Super Pals everywhere will pick up the phone and go green too!
There are many different ways to go green, so it may take a little digging to find a way to make it work in all cities. Girlawhirl found a map online that shows which states allow customers to buy energy from outside sources.
