a girlawhirl favorite: kvale good natured games is a semi-finalist in the annual boost your business contest
super pals can cast their votes here
Sep 18, 2008
Girlawhirl couldn't be more thrilled that the purveyor of her favorite eco-friendly board games - Kvale Good Natured Games – is one of 20 semi-finalists in the annual Forbes.com "Boost Your Business" contest, selected from an estimated 1,500 entrepreneurs across the nation. The grand prize is big: $100,000 to help the winner take their business to the next level...

In addition to posting 500 word business plans, each semi-finalist provided a 30-second video "elevator pitch". Girlawhirl can check out all 20 videos online and vote for her favorite – Kvale Good Natured Games – of course, to help determine the next step: the Top 5 Finalists.

There are several green and eco-friendly companies among the contenders, but Good Natured Games is the only one that's promised a portion of the grand prize for non-profit organizations. To keep things easy for Girlawhirl and her Super Pals, Kvale Good Natured Games has an easy how-to page that explains how to make every vote count. Click here to vote through the end of September.

According to CEO Tony Kvale, the company, which is considered small in relation to some of the giants of the game industry, has already saved the planet “1,397 tons trees (9,665 fully grown); 6.7 billion BTUs of total energy; 848,464 lbs of CO2 / greenhouse gases; 452,541 lbs of solid waste; and 3.5 million gallons of water,” or enough energy to power 73 homes for an entire year!

Girlawhirl hopes a win in the "Boost Your Business" contest will inspire all manufacturers of games to follow in Kvale's green footsteps. She's still having fun playing Head1Liners, the first game from Kvale Good Natured Games.
