By adding their names, the word gets out, all the way to Washington, where, with the changes in Congress, there's hope that the message will be heard – and acted upon.

Plus, the stopglobalwarming.org site is full of easy to understand information and things everyone can to do reduce their own carbon footprints. Girlawhirl loves the “Take Action” section because it's full of facts she finds herself spewing at cocktail parties: that shorter showers really do make a difference, tires that are fully inflated not only make for a more comfortable ride but also save money and reduce carbon emissions, and more. There's also up to the minute news from the scientific community and updates on what's being done to help stop global warming.

It's all spearheaded by Laurie David, who's helped bring the climate crisis issue to the forefront of the American consciousness.
