Girlawhirl always tries to keep up with her fitness even while traveling. Over the years that has meant a session with a tennis pro on the island of Phuket, step aerobics in a tiny Hong Kong Gym, and an Italian version of a spinning class in Rome. But recently in Japan she found a new way to keep herself in shape, with a fitness craze that has been a staple in that country for years, but is just beginning to catch on in the states… Dance Dance Revolution, or DDR as it's commonly called, is a video game designed with fitness in mind. Girlawhirl learned some cool dance moves and got one heck of a workout by stepping on a dance pad that hooked into her television. The screen showed her where to put her feet… when to go from side to side or front to back. At first she couldn't
DDR is available in two versions: a non-consol unit that can be plugged straight into a television, and a more graphic and exciting version that works with video game systems like PlayStation 2® or Nintendo GameCube ™.
