Girlawhirl never ceases to be amazed by a dancer's perfectly proportioned and beautifully sculpted body. Yes, she knows that dancers train, train and train some more, but so do lots of other athletes and yet, they have very different body types. So, tossing genetics aside, what do dancers know that Girlawhirl has yet to figure out?... This is where this story gets interesting. Channel surfing late one night, she came across an infomercial featuring a ballerina and a voiceover of a woman revealing the secrets to attaining a dancer's body. And truth be told, that was all Girlawhirl needed to hear.
After discussion with her trainer, Tiffany Davidson, they decided to give the Fluidity Bar System a try. The central piece of equipment is the Fluidity Bar itself: a freestanding, adjustable, and easy to store ballet bar. It comes pre-assembled, moves around on its own set of wheels until it's set up for the workout and becomes stable and supportive, and Girlawhirl's came with three DVDs, two resistance bands, a ball, a pump and a nutritional guide.
Right from the start Girlawhirl loved the workout. Maybe it was because she just felt graceful doing it, but more likely it was because the program was new to her and her body. The DVDs are challenging and informative and the resistance bands and ball kept things from getting stale as she moved up from a beginner to the intermediate and advanced levels. Designed by MIT-trained technicians and the brainchild of Michelle Austin, a dancer, trainer and former student of Lotte Berk, Fluidity promises a well-proportioned body through muscle integration as opposed to muscle isolation.
The Fluidity Bar allows Girlawhirl to get a full body workout using her own body weight. Standing at the bar, she's is able to extend back in order to work all the muscles in her back, buttocks and legs, resulting in great posture and a beautiful back line.
And while she may never become as perfectly proportioned as the dancers she always envies, Girlawhirl feels like a pro, working out on her own Fluidity Bar.
The Fluidity Bar is available at fluidity.com.
