Sitting on her office sofa with opened files covering her coffee table, Girlawhirl's coworker explained she can't stand sitting at her desk all day long, and instead prefers to use her office space to the fullest extent. So to make sure she doesn't miss a beat she has her pet pay attention to emails and internet updates for her.

“A pet?” Girlawhirl asked herself.

Girlawhirl's confusion must have been apparent because her coworker quickly introduced her to Nabaztag/tag the Second First Smart Rabbit by Violet. The adorable Wi-Fi rabbit talks, sings and even “smells.”

Girlawhirl's officemate explained her little bunny-buddy flicks its ears, lights up, and – most importantly – keeps up with her computer. All she needs is a broadband connection and Wi-Fi access and Nabaztag keeps her informed of everything going on with her computer.

She'd like to have that book she's been meaning to get to read aloud to her? She just lets Nabaztag “smell” it by waving the book's RFID tag (usually in the label) in front of its nose.

The rabbit can also read stock quotes, news headlines, weather reports, her favorite blogs and even act as an alarm clock. It also constantly searches the internet to find interesting information to share! Girlawhirl's friend said she loves entering the office to hear a random tidbit Nabaztag thought she'd find amusing. Plus, it can sense when people are in the room, so it waits until she's back to share the news. And when her colleague just wants some peace and quite, she just tells it to clam up, and it does! But she said she doesn't like to stifle her rabbit, so she lets it speak freely and do its Tai Chi exercises to relax.

Girlawhirl was so impressed she told her friend she had to find one for herself, which it turns out would be a great way for the two of them to stay in communication because Nabaztag's built in microphone converts talk to text for rabbit-to-rabbit communication.

Girlawhirl can't wait to get her hands on her own rabbit. And this one will be so much easier to care for than the bunny she had as a child. No messy cages to clean and emails read aloud to her – this is certainly Girlawhirl's kind of pet!
