As much as Girlawhirl loves to putter about in the kitchen, there are some things that she knows are better left to the experts. Case in point: sushi and maki rolls. Between cooking the rice, finding the most fabulously fresh fish, cutting all of the ingredients, and finally the rolling, it's well beyond her. And truth be told, there are many great places where she can order and pick up sushi on her way home from work…
When her Super Pals stop by for an impromptu evening of TV watching or just chatting, sushi and other types of rolls are usually the first thing they send out for. And just because Girlawhirl's not cooking, it doesn't mean that she wants everyone to eat out of plastic take-out containers.
Instead she passes out cool and colorful Maki Sushi Plates from cb2. They come in black, white and orange and have their own ‘well' on one corner that's perfect for soy, ginger or wasabi.
Paired with equally colorful chopsticks, it turns take-out into a festive little get together. She even has a fabulous platter that, like a poster from her favorite sushi place, shows different types of sushi with their names next to it.
Girlawhirl found her Maki Sushi Plates and her illustrated Sushi Plate online at cb2.com. She picked up her set of 12 pairs of reusable colorful chopsticks the last time she was in London at The Conran Shop, but they're available here in the states at brightfungifts.com.
