RSS is a family of XML file formats for  web syndication used by news websites and weblogs.  RSS is widely used by the weblog community to share their latest entries, headlines or their full text, or even  multimedia files like podcasts.  RSS is an acronym for "really simple syndication."  RSS allow you to subscribe to websites that provide RSS feeds, these are usually sites that update content frequently.  to use RSS technology you need to set up some type of news aggregation service.  think of this news agregation service as your personal mailbox.  You then have to subscribe to the sites that you want to get updates on.  this sounds complicated... it's really not, just click on one of the icons above to get started.
