There are so many amazing resorts on the island Girlawhirl doesn't know where to begin – one, The Ariel Sands, is even owned by Michael Douglas (his mother is a native Bermudian). He and wife Catherine Zeta Jones are often seen on the island, with kids in tow. But the center of all the action is Hamilton. That's where the many cruise ships that drop anchor in Bermuda line up; where Girlawhirl and Super Pals can hop in a horse drawn carriage for a guided tour, and, most importantly, where to shop!

There's no denying Bermuda is a colorful place. Every home is painted in a vibrant pastel pink, yellow, blue, green or any other color of the rainbow, and topped with a white stair-stacked style roof. (Girlawhirl's been told the locals paint their roofs white to keep the birds away because they collect rainwater runoff for drinking.) Hamilton's Front Street is no different. Each large storefront is painted in a different color, each prettier than the last.

On her latest trip, Girlawhirl was very disappointed to see that a staple of Bermuda shopping, Trimingham Brothers, est. 1844, had closed its doors. But even with its absence there are still a number of classic Bermudian shops like the Irish Linen Shop, The English Sports Shop for the men and its sister store Boutique C.C. (emphasis on sister), and A.S. Cooper & Sons to choose from.

When she needs her designer fix Girlawhirl heads into Gibbons Company to grab some pieces from DKNY, Calvin Klein, Sigrid Olsen and even a Tahari suit. She can also check out Calypso, United Colors of Benetton, Vibe and French Connection for the latest styles. There's also a Louis Vuitton boutique, but for every other luxury accessory line a girl could ask for (think Fendi, Ferragamo and Prada) Lusso is the answer.

In a sea of souvenir shops her favorite is Onion Jack's! When she's all done with her power shopping Giralwhirl likes to sit back and relax on the upstairs deck of the Pickled Onion with a drink, or in the traditional English pub The Hog Penny.

Her last stop before heading back to the hotel for some much needed rest: Gosling Bros. Ltd. to grab a bottle of the island's famous rum because when she gets home it's time to make all of her friends a “Dark & Stormy” – Bermuda's national drink.

Girlawhirl always tells Super Pals looking for some inside info that the best time to head to this British overseas territory is in the late spring through the summer. With temps between 50 – 70 degrees during the winter, Girlawhirl likes to go when she's almost guaranteed to get a few days on the pink sand.
