Each store has a ton of variety—it's never just about clothes. Handbags, fragrance, shoes and jewelry are always part of the mix—and the trend of the moment always appears in spades. Girlawhirl never fails to find something—usually several things—irresistible.
She finds herself flitting back and forth from shop to shop, crossing constantly, stopping for a quick drink in any number of places or for an
For jewelry, Hillary Druxman can't be beat. Girlawhirl goes nuts over the sterling collection, with blue and pink sapphires and emeralds. There is also a separate gold collection as well as a multi stone ‘Links of Love' bracelet, the proceeds from which are donated to Tsunami relief efforts.
And Girlawhirl can't get off the street without spending some serious fun time in Hey Kookla, where everywhere you look there's something playful—like girly games, beautiful—like a piece of jewelry, or fabulous smelling—like laundry soaps, candles and home fragrances. Adding to the spirit of the store is the staff, who believe a glass of wine adds to the shopping experience.
At the end of the day, Girlawhirl and her shopping pals usually stop into Yu, for their flavor infused sake—pomegranate, mango and other flavors—and a few of the small plates they specialize in. It makes a great snack or light dinner.
