From fancy food to fun and games, the blocks between Glisan and Northrup Streets on NW 23rd Avenue have it all. Girlawhirl stayed on one side of the street so she wouldn't miss anything and made her way back along the opposite side, hitting all the stores along the way.
She loved Hello, Inc., where there were more ideas and cool gifts – for herself, for babies, for her home, for her friends – than she could process. For her apartment, she had plenty of places to find pillows, accessories and more. Just a few options were the Parisian inspiration at Urbino, garden gifts at Zucari Home and Garden, and bedding at Compleat Bed and Breakfast.
She found shoes at Ether, or was it Zelda's Shoe Bar – they both had great selections – and at Talula's Shoe Salon, she could have sat down and got a pedicure if she had the time. Her wardrobe grew a little at Girlfriends and Elizabeth Street, but she had fun looking at the colorful options and cool grass-like floor at Galore Department Store,
and the mix of vintage and new at 3 Monkeys. There were gorgeous, locally made sweaters at Souchi and a beauty bonanza at Blush Beauty Bar.
With so many lunch options, Girlawhirl mixed it up, having her meal at one of the many choices with outdoor tables and stopping for dessert – because she'd walked by earlier and seen the spectacular selection – at Papa Haydn.
