No visit to Milan is complete without a stop at 10 Corso Como, Carla Sozzani's compound of all things fashionable. The rambling space includes a gallery, a spectacular selection of books and CDs, clothes, shoes and accessories for women and men, including plenty of ‘one offs' and exclusive goodies, a café and even three rooms that could quite possibly be the coolest place to stay in the city…
For Girlawhirl, it's a lot to take in. She finds herself slowly making her way through the place, watching her bags, making sure she doesn't knock anything over, stopping in front of things - gorgeous trays for entertaining, limited edition perfumes and cosmetics, jewelry - that she wishes that she could take home with her.But it was on her way out, when she glanced over to the entrance of 3Rooms (as they are cleverly referred to) that her breath was literally taken away.
It was the wall behind the stairs that she couldn't stop staring at. Carved floral tiles covered it: a gorgeous grey stone, with 3-D flowers, almost like mini sculptures, covering every inch of the tile. There was a small sink off to the side, but it was the tile that she had to reach out and touch.
She's still dreaming about how someday she'll be able to incorporate it into her dream house.
