As if the opportunity to enjoy a few days of relaxation in Arizona's Red Rock country isn't enough, Girlawhirl's still feeling the relaxing effects of her recent stay at the Enchantment Resort, where she was able to take advantage of Mii amo spa... Girlawhirl admits that she could just sit and stare at the scenery surrounding Enchantment all day, and just the exposure to such gorgeous twisting colorful rock formations, cliffs, and trees would relax her. But with everything available to her at Enchantment she barely had time to sit. Located in the heart of Boynton Canyon, there's much to do, whether it's hiking – trails to a couple of different vortexes go right by the property – biking, or even shopping in nearby uptown Sedona, Girlawhirl had more choices than time – with additional activities like ballooning and jeep tours that she could also arrange, her head was spinning! And since the area's rich in Native American history and culture, Enchantment includes activities that range from a Medicine Walk with a Native American Elder to seasonal celebrations that have been practiced for centuries. There's even narrated stargazing on the weekend nights.
And because she was there to relax, Girlawhirl made it a point to visit the Mii amo spa. Located on the grounds of the Enchantment Resort, it is itself a destination spa with rooms for spa guests within its confines. The centerpiece is the Crystal Grotto, a round room that's used for meditations, stating intentions and quiet contemplation. From the floor that's actually open to the ground it's built on so it's the real earth beneath Girlawhirl's feet – to help her remain grounded and feel her connection to the planet – to the round shape and curved walls all the way up to the circular opening at the top, it truly is a spectacular room. And on the summer equinox, when the sun's at just the right angle, it strikes the crystal that's embedded in the ancient tree stump at the center of the room and the whole place shines.
