Boston has always been one of those cities that just does it for Girlawhirl. A seamless mix of old and new combined into a city where she can hit the streets running. The same things about the city that tortured her as a child, like being dragged along the Freedom Trail by her mother, are exactly what she looks forward to doing today. But childhood torture aside, Girlawhirl has always loved the outdoor shopping scene at Faneuil Hall… Girlawhirl has always loved shopping in places with a little history, and Faneuil Hall has all of America's history to it! In the tumultuous years leading up to the War for Independence, the issues were argued right there by founding fathers like Samuel Adams. And his statue is in front of Faneuil Hall (looking every bit as cantankerous as he's said to have been) to prove it. But Faneuil Hall isn't just one building… it's one building amidst an entire outdoor square full of street performers, live music, outdoor cafes, rolling cart-shops and brick and cobblestone streets—not to mention the extensive shopping in both the North and South Market as well as Quincy Market.
In those hallowed halls Giralwhirl found fashionable favorites like Ann Taylor, Coach and Urban Outfitters, a beautiful bracelet from Local Charm, home items at Crate & Barrel and a delicious treat at the Godiva Chocolatier. To beat the heat Girlawhirl loves to grab lunch in one of the basement level bars like Ames Plow. And even though it's not technically in Faneuil Hall, she can't pass the Black Rose Irish pub without popping in for a pint.
But what she loves most about Faneuil Hall is its location, location, location! After an afternoon of shopping, sampling and splurging she can walk it all off as she continues down the Freedom Trail! Next stop: Paul Revere's House.
