Girlawhirl's gone on just about every kind of vacation imaginable. From relaxing tropical poolside getaways with Super Pals, to rustic weekends spent entirely in the great outdoors. But there's one kind of vacation she has yet to embark on, one where she divides her personal time with time spent leaving a positive impact on her destination…
Whether she's enjoying a warm weather vacation in Australia, Brazil, or Costa Rica, or exploring European history in Ireland, Hungary or Italy, there are opportunities for Girlawhirl to do more than just enjoy some “me time.” She can give back to her host country too. With 20 countries on the roster, Global Volunteers – a private non-profit international development organization based in St. Paul, Minnesota – gives Girlawhirl the oportunity to split her time between sightseeing in Peru and spending time on service projects like helping to build a school, teach conversational English or paint a home.
Through the Global Volunteer programs, Girlawhirl won't only see the countries she's in, she'll immerse herself in the people, language and culture and give something back too. And because she's spending her time doing charitable work, her entire trip becomes tax deductible.
And since “charity begins at home,” Girlawhirl won't skip Global Volunteer's opportunities here in the United States when she's traveling domestically.
