Girlawhirl is certainly not above enjoying the rides at Disney World's expansive theme parks. From the Rock ‘n' Roller Coaster® starring Aerosmith to the Twilight Zone™ Tower of Terror and the new Expedition Everest roller coaster in Disney's Animal Kingdom® Park – there are certainly adult-sized thrills to be had. But beyond the amusements, there is plenty for Girlawhirl and Super Pals to do, which Girlawhirl discovered when she was lucky enough to steal a day while on business in Orlando to meet up with some vacationing pals… Their day began in Disney's Hollywood Studios™ theme park for lunch at The Brown Derby, a replica of the famous Hollywood haunt of silver-screen stars of days gone by. Girlawhirl had to try the Cobb Salad, as the original Brown Derby claims to be its creator, and they all sipped cocktails while they caught up. After a large meal isn't exactly an ideal time to take on the Tower of Terror or roller coasters of any kind, so instead they choose a tour of the backlot, and to take in the new Lights, Motors, Action! Extreme Stunt Show and a condensed stage version of “Beauty and the Beast.”
From there, the group took a boat ride over to EPCOT® where they were dropped off at the park's World Showcase side, and smack in the middle of the U.K. and France, exactly where they wanted to be. From there they could work their way around from France to Japan, Morocco, America, Italy, Germany, China, Norway, Mexico, Canada and back to the UK sampling the global fare and tasting the spirits they had to offer. Girlawhirl drank some sparkling NUVO – her new favorite – in France while her friends stuck with the tried and true: champagne. They had margaritas in Mexico and sampled Beck's Beer while shopping in the traditional German Christmas store. Almost every pavilion has options for fun family dining. Girlawhirl's group opted for Hibachi in Japan. She learned that walking into any Disney World restaurant is nearly impossible, so it was a good thing for Girlawhirl that her very organized pal had made reservations in advance.
But for Girlawhirl the best part of the experience was the private boat ride to view the fireworks. Arranged through her pal's Walt Disney World Hotel, Girlawhirl and her group got a private pontoon ride around the Seven Seas Lagoon after dark, just in time for the Magic Kingdom's® fireworks. The show is choreographed to music – but not to worry, Girlawhirl's group could listen to the show through the radio on the boat.
If they were feeling the need to head out late into the night, the fun didn't have to stop. There are a ton of options for late night entertainment in Downtown Disney® – including a House of Blues and the Cirque de Soleil© La Nouba™ show– and night club after night club. Not to mention great late night shopping (open till 11 p.m.) and even a comedy club.
With so many options for adult fun – including five golf courses – Girlawhirl just had to steal a second day.

After experiencing a truly magical fireworks display aboard a boat sipping wine, Girlawhirl doesn't know how she ever watched fireworks before.
