When Girlawhirl gets home at night after a long day at work, and more than likely a stop at the gym, she's already thought about what she's going to make for dinner. Sometimes she spends her transit time home on the bus narrowing down the possibilities, or if she hasn't been to the grocery store in a while, she might be racking her brain trying to figure out what she has in her fridge and what she can make out of it…

There are not too many nights that she's faced with hunger, unless it's self-induced because she's dieting. But millions of children – 400 million around the world – are hungry every day, and the UN World Food Program works hard to feed as many as they can.
When kids get meals at school, their performance soars and attendance rates can increase up to 100%. For some of them, it's the only meal that they eat each day.

To raise awareness, and help feed children around the world, Lauren Bush, an Honorary Spokesperson for the World Food Program designed the Feed Bag, a reversible carryall that, when purchased, feeds one child at school for a whole academic year. One side, made from burlap, looks like the actual bags used to transport grain. It's stamped with the words “FEED the Children of the World.” The other side is white cotton muslin with three pockets and it's stamped with a “1” signifying that one child is fed by the purchase.

Girlawhirl purchased her bags at amazon.com.
