Kiva.org is a non-profit that allows people like Girlawhirl to give private, interest free loans to entrepreneurs in developing countries like Uganda, Nicaragua, Peru and Tajikistan, to name a few. She can select who gets her dollars by country, business or even person. Then through Kiva.org's blogs and representatives she can stay on top of the business' progress.

Using PayPal - a secure network - lenders like Girlawhirl can safely donate anywhere from $25 to $100 or more to be part of the giving side of one of these loans. Because it's charitable, the rules for paying back the loans are more relaxed, but Girlawhirl doesn't mind - because whatever comes back to her she plans to continue to reinvest in other parts of the world.
