Girlawhirl's always up for trying new products and cosmetic brands. When something turns out to be really great she gets so excited she can't wait to spread the word. But more than just the individual products, it's the positive principles, and philanthropic nature, behind her most recent makeup discovery that's really got her going... Girlawhirl has many products in her beauty arsenal that give something back to one charity or another. But now she's found an entire line of “Cause-metics” that donates not just a portion, or proceeds from just one particular product, but ALL of the after-tax profits from the entire company to women's health and human rights advocacy causes – including those that fight poverty and help women stay out of indentured servitude.
PeaceKeeper Cause-Metics says it is the first “All-Benefit” cosmetics company, meaning it donates all of its “distributable profits to charity after taxes, debt repayment, financing costs and reasonable working capital reserves.” In addition, each year PeaceKeeper also donates half of one percent of gross revenues to charity through its PeaceKeeper Fund. Plus, $1 from the sale of every Eternal Equity Gloss sold is donated to charity, along with 5 percent of sales from the V-Day and UNIFEM glosses, which go towards specific charities associated with the products.
All of PeaceKeepers products are made using natural ingredients like jojoba, virgin olive oil, and beeswax and never with formaldehyde or parabens. And no matter what she buys from the mineral makeup line, Girlawhirl knows she is making a positive impact because PeaceKeeper makes sure its products are made in factories that are safe for the workers, pay fair wages and employ reasonable hours. Girlawhirl's also happy to know these “cause-metics” are never tested on animals. And a bunch of her friends that will be happy to know that many of the products are vegan.
Finding products that make her look good, are good for her body and good for the world seems almost too good to be true.

Editor's Note: Recently lipsticks from PeaceKeeper Cause-Metics were called out by a consumer group for containing high amounts of lead. See the response from PeaceKeeper here.
