It's easy to Stamp Out Hunger!

Girlawhirl's always ready to give, but her schedule doesn't always allow her to help out as often as she'd like to. It seems her local clothing or food drives always happen on days when she's out of town, or in places she can't get to in time. But this weekend she can help Stamp Out Hunger without even leaving her apartment…

This Saturday, May 12th, Girlawhirl can help the National Associations of Letter Carriers feed the hungry by donating her nonperishable items to the largest yearly one-day food drive in the nation: the 15th Annual Stamp Out Hunger Food Drive!

All she has to do is bring her canned and nonperishable foods to her apartment building's mailroom (Super Pals with houses can simply leave the items by their mailboxes) before her mail is delivered, and her local letter carrier will cart off the goods to local pantries and shelters.

Girlawhirl's given to this food drive every year since it started in 1993, and she's glad to know she's helped add to the 765.5 million pounds of food donated so far, but she's not stopping there. Since the drive is a nationwide effort – including all 50 sates, Washington D.C., Puerto Rico and the U.S. Virgin Islands – she's calling all of her Super Pals across the country to make sure they provide their local letter carriers with stuff for the food drive too!

When the Post Office makes it this easy to help her community, Girlawhirl can't think of any reason not to send a bag full of nonperishable food with the morning mail.
